Serbia reaffirms commitment to fighting against corruption, crime
The Serbian foreign minister, Vladimir Bozovic, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the fight against corruption and organized crime, the local media reported on Dec. 10.
“Bozovic said that the Serbian authorities are deeply committed to a decisive fight against corruption and all modes of crime, especially organized crime,” Serbian press wire Tanjug reported.
The foreign minister stressed that the battle against corruption needs to take the form of a nationwide “coalition” supported not only by the government, but also by NGO’s , the church, young people and media.
Bozovic spoke at a two day conference entitled Regional Anti-Corruption for South Eastern European countries. He also talked about the need to implement new regulations for the protection of whistle-blowers
