Regional Czech politician Roman Houska allegedly murdered
Czech politician and entrepreneur, Roman Houska, was allegedly murdered at his home in the north-western town of Chomutov, the local media reported, Nov. 19.
“Influential regional politician and businessman, Roman Houska (Social Democrats, CSSD), the partner of former CSSD regional governor, Jana Vanhova, was murdered in Chomutov on Monday […],” Czech news service Ceske noviny reported.
Police were called to Houska’s home on Monday evening with reports of a shooting having taken place. According to Houska’s political colleagues, the alleged murder may have been connected to his business dealings rather than political career.
Houska’s partner was released by the police on Tuesday-morning and returned to the couple’s home.
The Chomutov police has not given further details of the crime.
