Notorious drug lord Darko S. located in Montenegro by Serbian police, CIA
Runaway drug lord Darko S. is hiding out in Montenegro in a village between Zabljak and Pljevlje, according to a Serbian high ranking police officer, daily newspaper Informer reported, July 17.
“Darko was living in Zurich for an extended time period,” the police source said, adding “from there he was negotiating his surrender with the Serbian authorities.”
Once he found out that CIA and DEA had discovered his whereabouts, and that he was no longer safe in Switzerland, he used his underground connections to re-locate to Montenegro.
The police source further added that “a joint arrest action of the Serbian police force with the CIA and DEA is closer to execution than ever before.”
Darko S. is believed to have logistics support from former state security officers and to be in Montenegro with his closest partners, Goran S. , Nikola D. , and Nenad N.
The runaway drug lord, who is being prosecuted by both Serbian and American courts as the boss of a drug-cartel which was smuggling tons of cocaine from South America to Europe, escaped arrest in October 2009.
He exited the plane from Podgorica to Vienna just minutes before takeoff. A joint task force of American, Serbian and Austrian policemen were waiting for him with an arrest warrant at Vienna airport.
Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic announced on July 6 that the Serbian police knows Darko’s location and that he will be arrested some time in 2013.
