Poland’s new finance minister will tackle VAT fraud
Mateusz Szczurek, Poland’s newly elected finance minister, said that he plans to tackle VAT fraud in Poland at an event organized by the British-Polish Chamber of Commerce.
“In about a month we will publish our view on tax fraud issues and this kind of organized crime,” the minister announced. “Tax fraud seriously undermines business and competition in the country.”
Szczurek, who took over from Jan-Vincent Rostowski in November 2013, set out his views on Poland’s current and future macroeconomic prospects, as well as responding to questions from the business community. The minister also discussed the pension fund situation and investment in the healthcare system.
