Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev’s Twitter account hacked
Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev had his Twitter account hacked early in the morning on Aug.14, the Russian business daily Kommersant wrote.
“The PM’s Twitter account was hacked; the last messages are so out of character,” according to the press-service of the Russian government.
“I resign. I am ashamed for the actions of the government. I’m sorry,” was the first message that appeared after the account was hacked.
“I’ve been longing to say this. Vova [Vova is a short form of Vladimir; meaning Vladimir Putin]! you are wrong!” another said.
All messages left after the break-in were deleted from the official’s account. The government stated that “the circumstances of hacking currently remain unknown but the press-service takes all necessary technical steps to eliminate the effects of the break-in.”
“All I know is that this hacker break-in once again emphasized the need to provide digital security,” said Dmitry Peskov, press-secretary of the Russian President.
