EC to suspend transport and competitiveness funds for Bulgaria?
Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev said that the European Commission (EC) is en route to suspending two more program funds, including one for transport and the other for competitiveness, for Bulgaria, the Bulgarian newswire Novinite reported, June 10.
“This is a catastrophe for the country in its hardest moments,” said Plevneliev, as cited by the newswire.
Bulgarian’s president also added he obtained the information on the suspension of the funds from his own sources in the EC.
“I’ve just learned from the EC that the transport and competitiveness funds will also be stopped,” stated Plevneliev in his statement on the calling of the Consultative Council for National Security next Tuesday June 17, as cited by the newswire.
Recently the European Commission suspended payments to the regional development and environment programs for Bulgaria.
