Yatsenyuk declares war on oligarchs
The Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk announced that the government has begun a new political course on fighting oligarchy, the Ukrainian business information network Bin.ua wrote, June 6.
“We have declared the de-monopolization of the Ukrainian economy and a real fight against oligarchy,” Yatsenyuk said. “There are no forbidden names for me – everybody will be equal, equal oligarchs!”
The first “victim” of Yatsenyuk’s new policy is the Ukrainian businessman and energy tycoon, Dmytro Firtash, whose companies, reportedly, owes UAH 6 bln to the Ukrainian energy sector.
“The state has already begun a legal battle for the recovery of UAH 6 bln,” Yatsenyuk said.
