Ninth suspect in Galenika corruption case turns himself in

Miroslav M. (60), CFO at pharmaceutical wholesaler Velefarm, turned himself in at the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime in Belgrade on Monday May 26, in connection with the investigation into fraud at Serbian pharmaceutical company Galenika, the Serbian newswire Tanjug reported May 26.

“Miroslav M. came to the prosecutor’s office of his own accord and his questioning is under way,” Organized Crime Prosecutor Miljko Radisavljevic said, as cited by the newswire.

Eight other suspects in connection to Galenika’s corruption scandal were arrested on Sunday May 25. All are suspected of criminal abuse of office and causing losses of about EUR 75 mln to Galenika.
