Access to Croatian property market made easier for Russians
A new law will make it easier for Russian citizens to purchase property in Croatia, the Croatian media reported May 14.
“It was absurd that Russian companies could buy companies in Croatia, but Russian citizens were not allowed to buy property,” said Justice Minister Orsat Miljenic, according to Croatian daily Vecernji List.
Individual Russians had been forced to open companies if they wished to purchase property in Croatia, however it is hoped that the new law will make Russian capital feel more welcome. Croatian house prices collapsed during the global financial crisis and have been falling for the last six years, according to the Global Property Guide.
