Naftogaz Ukraine former deputy CEO accused of embezzlement
Ukraine’s Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) announced that the former deputy CEO of Naftogaz Ukraine JSC, Valentyn F., to be on the wanted list, according to MIA official website.
“Naftogaz’s ex-deputy CEO Valentyn F., suspected of embezzlement, has been hiding from preliminary investigation bodies since April 30, 2014,” the MIA official website stated.
Valentyn F. was appointed for the position of deputy CEO of Naftogaz Ukraine in April 2013. In August of the same year, the Ministry of Fuel and Energy of Ukraine appointed him as responsible for the development of the income balance and the distribution of gas.
Another former Naftogaz employee, Yevhen B., was arrested on March 21 as part of the investigation into corruption schemes in the gas industry, the Ukrainian business daily Biznes Vesti wrote.
Naftogaz Ukraine is the national state-owned oil and gas company founded in 1998. It is subordinated to the Ministry of Fuel and Energy of Ukraine.
